When To Post?

As promised in our January article, the following is a list of the best times of when to post on social media. We’ve also included what sizes any images should be and how many times you should post per day.

Why is this important? I hear you ask. Well, you have spent a while gathering, writing or designing the best content you can, so you want to get maximum exposure for that content. Placing said content material at the right time can help drive your business forward; basically, the more people that see and interact with your content, the better it is at helping drive leads and visits to your website.

Before you post anything make sure it’s valuable, informative, or practical to your audience? Ask yourself: is it on brand? Will it help my audience connect with me? Have I included a call to action (CTA)? Or do I need a CTA?

GUIDELINE TABLE

So, below is a guideline table of how many posts per day you should make on each of the top 6 platforms, what sizes the images should be and when the best times to post are. Following these guidelines should help you drive more leads from your content for your brand/business.

Platform Post Per Day Image Size Time To Post
Facebook 1-3 Per Day 800×800 px 6am – 4pm
Instagram 1-2 Per Day 1080×1080 px 8am – 5pm
Twitter 3-5 Per Day 1024×1104 px 9am – 8pm
Pinterest 1-2 Per Day 736×1104 px 9am – 10pm
LinkedIn 2-5 Per Day 640×400 px 7am – 5pm
You Tube 1 Per Day See Below 2pm – 4pm

Additional File Size Guidelines for You Tube

  1. You Tube specifies that video file size is limited to 2GB for uploading, but you can upload a 20GB file by using an up-to-date browser.
  2. Video size refers to the video resolution. Since YouTube applies a 16:9 aspect ratio, uploading a 16:9 video file would be the best choice.
  3. The following resolutions are the frequently-used ones.

240p: 426×240 || 360p: 640×360 || 480p: 854×480 || 720p: 1280×720 || 1080p: 1920×1080 || 1440p (2k): 2560×1440 || 2160p (4k): 3840 x 2160

So there you have it. In January we gave you ideas of what to post and this month when to post it.
